Everton are now working to finalise a deal to bring Dele Alli to Goodison Park after they agreed his transfer with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues came into deadline day set on completing the loan signing of Donny van de Beek and adding another midfield player.
And earlier today, it emerged that Everton were locked in negotiations with Spurs for the permanent signing of Alli.

But Everton are now working on finalising paperwork and the 25-year-old's medical before the 11pm cut off point.
It has also been suggested that the Blues have been exploring the possibility of signing a defender before the deadline.
But it remains to be seen if they press ahead with that
Getting both the Van de Beek and Alli deals over the line would take Everton's January transfer business to five signings after Vitaliy Mykolenko, Nathan Patterson and Anwar El Ghazi were recruited earlier in the month.
