Everton 1-4 Newcastle United player ratings: Callum Wilson is top man during Goodison rout

Newcastle United ran riot again - this time at Goodison Park, although their first half performance was below par.

Even then Eddie Howe will argue his team went in 1-0 up at the break. But after the interval, the goals flowed from Callum Wilson who got his second. And Jacob Murphy and Joelinton also netted in the rout.

Only beaten by a flukey corner in the second half. Made some key stops at key times.

Kieran Trippier 8

Battled on through the pain barrier after first half knock. Always looking to provide.

Fabian Schar 8

A nervy first half but recovered well in the second half to get back pinpoint passing. Only denied wonder goal due to an offside.

Came through a tough assignment with some crunching tackles.

Recovered from below par first half. Had a penalty shout but ended the night with an injury.

Ran the show in the middle. Another not at his best first half but put on a bit of a master class after the break. Weighed in with an assist.

He was fantastic after the interval. A lovely assist and run for Joelinton goal.

A fierce presence, great hold up play and a goal.

Not his night in the final third in truth. But the playmaker is still feeling his way back after injury. Still managed some positive defensive contributions.

Got the party started with a crucial opener. Second half strike was a belter. Undisputed top scorer.
