The New York Jets had few positive headlines to write about following their season-opening 32-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The game wasn’t even that close.
After the contest, the fact that quarterback Aaron Rodgers was still a healthy player on the Jets (0-1) and will face the Tennessee Titans (0-1) in Week 2 was viewed as one of those plusses.
To some, it might have seemed like a bit of a tongue-and-cheek thought. That’s not the case for Rodgers himself.
During his first weekly appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers noted how even he was thankful for that after his first year with Gang Green only lasted four snaps.
“To be healthy is a really special blessing, I don’t take it for granted,” Rodgers said.
Rodgers did get pulled from the contest with four minutes left as New York waved the white flag… but he’s still healthy. That’s the important bit with a lot of season to go.
