Derrick White has become quite popular lately due to his elite play with the Boston Celtics, impressing even his own teammates with how he has kept the Celtics’ play crisp on both ends this season. Star big man Kristaps Porzingis opened up about White’s game after Boston’s Christmas Day victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, admitting he “didn’t realize how good D White was” via MassLive’s Brian Robb.
“He’s kind of under the radar a little bit but man he’s special.” Channeling his inner Yogi Berra, the Latvian center added that the “way he plays, how 90% of the time, he makes the right play all the time.”
“That’s the perfect teammate you want,” emphasized Porzingis. “On top of that he’s shooting great percentages and being super efficient.”
