Nottingham Forest are said to have written to the English Football League seeking reforms to the Championship.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis believes it is "imperative" VAR is implemented in the second tier, according to the Daily Mail. It comes after the Reds were left frustrated by a decision which went against them in Tuesday night’s crucial 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.
The visitors felt they should have had a penalty when Sam Surridge was caught by goalkeeper Mark Travers in the first half. But instead, he was incorrectly ruled to have been offside.

Spence situation
Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper insists he is not yet thinking about the possibility of being without Djed Spence in the play-offs.
Indeed, the Welshman says the Reds are not “worried” about who they could come up against in the battle to reach Wembley and secure the final promotion spot. Heading into the final round of fixtures this weekend, it will be two from Sheffield United, Luton Town, Middlesbrough and Millwall to join Forest and Huddersfield Town in the semi-finals.
Should Cooper’s side end up meeting Boro, Spence - who has been a star performer in the Garibaldi - would be ineligible to feature against his parent club. However, the Reds head coach says looking at potential solutions will not come into his thinking for naming his team to face Hull City in the last game of the regular season on Saturday.
“We’ll cross those bridges if they come. We’re not going into the Hull game thinking about who we play in the play-offs, I promise you,” Cooper said.
Yates' dream
Nottingham Forest are “dreaming” of more scenes like the one which greeted them before their crunch clash at Bournemouth in midweek.
Dozens of Reds fans waited outside the gates of the training ground to give the team an incredible send-off as they headed to the south coast for Tuesday night’s game. And midfielder Ryan Yates says that has given the squad a taste for more as they prepare for the play-offs.
Forest’s automatic promotion hopes were ended by the Cherries, leaving them having to navigate a different course in their bid to reach the Premier League. They have been backed in huge numbers home and away this season, though, with such support making a big difference, according to Yates.
“It was amazing seeing all those people. You can’t really believe it. It’s never happened before. It was incredible,” said the 24-year-old.
Cooper's aim
Saturday’s trip to Hull City may not have as much riding on it as Nottingham Forest had hoped, but boss Steve Cooper has stressed it is no less important.
And he has challenged his players to secure a third-placed finish in the Championship. That would represent their highest finish in the second tier since 2010.
And a win would take them to 82 points, making it the Reds’ highest points total since 1998, when they were promoted as champions with 94. It would also maintain the mentality Cooper has drummed into his side from the moment he arrived at the City Ground last September.
“We really want to finish third in the league, because I think that’s the sign of a team which wins and has the right mentality. We want to take all of that into the play-offs,” he said.
