Jose Miguel Gonzalez has resigned as manager of Olympiacos, following the 2-2 draw in the Super League Greece play-offs on Sunday.
The 60-year-old had returned to the club for a second spell, after succeeding compatriot Carlos Corberan last September. Corberan was alleviated from his duties after just six weeks in charge.
Michel, as he is known as, informed the board of his decision on Monday. "I informed the club management of my decision to resign," he said.

"I think this is the best moment for the team. I thank the whole Association for the cooperation, all these intense months, I leave as a friend and I wish the team to conquer all its goals."
A statement released by the club, read: "Mr. Michel has informed us of his decision to leave the club immediately. Mr Michel came in at a difficult time for the club and tried to help. We wish him only success in the future."
Olympiacos have named former Nottingham Forest head of international recruitment Jose Anigo as a caretaker manager ahead of their playoff clash against fourth-placed PAOK on Wednesday. Evangelos Marinakis' owned club is currently in third place in the league, and five points from leaders Panathinaikos.
