Evangelos Marinakis given huge backing over Man Utd and Liverpool transfers for Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest fans are solidly on board as Steve Cooper's Reds revolution excites the Trentside faithful.

A cool £135m has been invested in deals designed to keep Forest in the Premier League after an exile lasting 23 long years, and all of them have been hugely backed by thrilled supporters of the club.

More than five thousand "Reds" have taken part in our Good Deal, Bad Deal survey of the club's summer business, and what is quickly clear is the overwhelming backing given to head coach Cooper and Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.

The 16 deals to bring in new players - some on loan, others on permanent contracts - have all been backed by Forest fans, at least by 75% and in many cases by more than 90%. It is a true vindication by fans of what their clubs is trying to do this season. But now comes the real test - what the Reds can do on the pitch.

With that in mind, it is perhaps no surprise that striker Taiwo Awoniyi is soaring in the deal ratings. The £17m recruit scored the goal that sealed Forest's victory over West Ham, prompting 92% of the Forest fans who took part in our Good Deal, Bad Deal survey to back the Nigerian's arrival.

Arguably Forest’s highest profile signing this summer was that of England midfielder Jesse Lingard, who arrived from Manchester United on a free transfer. While the 29-year-old has still to hit top form for his new club, fans are in no doubt about his worth, with 92% of those responding to our survey backing the transfer.

Another player arriving from Old Trafford is goalkeeper Dean Henderson, and his season-long loan has topped the lot when it comes to backing Forest's summer business. A staggering 98% of fans who took part in our survey, backed the deal - and Henderson rewarded their faith by saving a penalty against the Hammers. It makes you wonder what the other two percent expect from a player.

Another arrival from Premier League rivals is right-back Neco Williams, a one-time understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool. Williams moved to Forest in an £17m deal in an effort to replace the Spurs-bound Djed Spence, and it is a deal backed by 95% of supporters.

The departure of goalkeeper Brice Samba registered the highest bad deal rating, with just under a quarter of respondents regretting the sale. The Frenchman, a key member of Forest's play-off winning team, returned home with a £4.5m transfer to Lens, and what Forest could have done to keep the flamboyant 28-year-old is unclear after he revealed a desire to move on. At least those naysayers can console themselves with the knowledge Forest have obtained a worthy replacement in Henderson, even if the deal is only temporary.

Don’t forget to keep having your say on Forest’s summer business with our “Good Deal or Bad Deal” widget and explain your reasons in the comments section below. These are the initial results, but the survey is ongoing until the transfer window closes on September 1.
