A dismal run of results could lead to more than just a change of manager at Nottingham Forest.
Head coach Steve Cooper’s job is on the line after Monday night’s 4-0 thumping at Leicester City made it five successive defeats for the Reds. They are bottom of the Premier League table, having registered four points from their opening eight games.
However, the Welshman is not the only one whose future could be in doubt. NottinghamshireLive understands changes are being considered at boardroom level and within the club’s recruitment team.

Backing Cooper
Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce has thrown his weight behind under-pressure manager Steve Cooper.
Cooper’s job is on the line after Monday night’s 4-0 thumping at Leicester City made it five defeats in a row for the Reds. They sit bottom of the Premier League table, with four points from their first eight games.
But Pearce argues it shouldn’t be forgotten that Cooper was the one who ended the club’s top-flight exile with promotion last season. And he believes the Welshman should be given more time to get a squad packed with new signings to gel.
“Nottingham Forest have been out of the Premier League for 23 years. A multitude of managers have attempted to get them back into the Premier League, including myself,” Pearce told talkSPORT.
Sterling support
Head coach Steve Cooper expressed his gratitude towards Nottingham Forest fans after his side’s 4-0 thumping at Leicester City.
The travelling contingent had very little to cheer against their near-neighbours on another miserable night for the Reds. Their losing run was extended to five matches and they slipped to the bottom of the Premier League table, with Cooper’s position under serious threat as a result.
But even when the game was well beyond any kind of salvage, the away end was in terrific voice. They kept singing right until the end, making all the noise at the King Power Stadium.
From the moment he took charge little more than a year ago, Cooper established a strong relationship with Forest fans - and they continued to sing his name in defeat to the Foxes. It remains to be seen whether he will be in the dugout at the City Ground next Monday, against Aston Villa, but the Welshman insisted there was nothing significant about going over to applaud supporters after the final whistle.
Benitez warning
Simon Jordan insists Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis deserves all the 'trouble' Rafa Benitez could bring him should he decide to part ways with Steve Cooper.
Former Liverpool boss Benitez has emerged as a 'potential replacement' for Cooper at the City Ground following Forest's 4-0 defeat at Leicester City on Monday, their fifth loss on the spin.
Forest signed 22 players in the summer in order to establish themselves in the top-flight, and Jordan believes it is no surprise they are now bottom of the Premier League.
"Forest are roughly where I thought they'd be," he told talkSPORT. "I said at the beginning of the season I thought Forest would be in and amongst it, and there was outrage from fans because if you say anything that doesn't follow their line that everything's wonderful, then ultimately you're the devil incarnate.
