Evangelos Marinakis believes he was “wise” to stick with Steve Cooper as Nottingham Forest’s rivals sacked their managers.
The Reds clinched Premier League safety in memorable fashion by beating Arsenal 1-0 at the City Ground on Saturday.
Marinakis was in the stands to see Taiwo Awoniyi score the all-important goal against the Gunners.

Cooper looked to be under huge pressure at times during the season as Forest struggled on their return to the top-flight.
But, while the likes of Leeds United, Everton, Leicester City and Southampton - who are all below the Reds in the table - all changed managers, Marinakis stuck with Cooper.
“All the teams, without exception, other than Nottingham Forest, that were not doing well changed their coaches, even twice,” Marinakis told Sky Sports, after the 1-0 win over Arsenal.
“It’s a very serious decision to change a coach.
“I think that I supported him as much as I could and also, let’s be honest, to change a coach you need to bring someone better. You need to bring someone better and to be available at the time.
“I think I took a wise decision and I supported Steve even though, of course, a lot of times you might agree, you might disagree.
“We are happy, we celebrate and now we have time to schedule again seriously and at the end of the day we are winners.”
