One thing we have learned over time in the sports sphere that is New York is that you don’t attack the fans.
That will get you a bus ticket outta here real fast. Just ask former Met Javier Baez, who, along with teammate Francisco Lindor, battled with fans several seasons ago and things got ugly. Baez was let go after the season and Lindor is still trying to get back into the good graces of the fans.

The offensive line has become the poster child of sorts of the team’s troubles. Neal, a high first-round pick in last year’s draft, is struggling mightily this year again with 20 quarterback pressures allowed in just the first four games.
Neal looked up toward the stands, raised his arm, and gestured sarcastically. He said he did not flip off fans. But he did yell a clear message at them.
“They were booing us, so I said, ‘Boo louder!'” Neal told NJ Advance Media on Wednesday.
The Giants are 1-3 entering Sunday’s challenging game at Miami. Their season is circling the drain, partly because of poor offensive line play, low-lighted by quarterback Daniel Jones being sacked 10 times against the Seahawks, who pounded the Giants, 24-3.
Evan Neal had a whole lot to say Wednesday.
Among his comments, regarding his critics:
“Why would a lion concern himself with the opinion of a sheep?”
“The person that’s commenting on my performance, what does he do? Flip hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere?”

Neal was asked why he told the fans to boo louder.
“Because that just further shows that people are fair-weather,” he said. “A lot of fans are bandwagoners. I mean, I get it: They want to see us perform well. And I respect all of that. But no one wants us to perform well more than we do.
“And how can you say you’re really a fan when we’re out there battling our asses off — and the game wasn’t going well — but the best you can do is boo your home team? So how much of a fan are you, really?”
Tread lightly, Evan. Play better and this will all go away.
