Evan Ferguson could make dramatic Brighton return tomorrow

Evan Ferguson could make a dramatic return for Brighton tomorrow after the club allayed his injury fears.

The Ireland striker, 18, left the Amex Stadium on crutches last weekend after suffering a knee injury in the FA Cup clash with Liverpool.

And it was feared he could be facing a prolonged spell on the sidelines, although ligament damage was swiftly ruled out.

But in a positive development today, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi refused to rule Ferguson out of tomorrow’s clash with Bournemouth.

The Italian said: “We will have to see about Evan. The injury was not so heavy, he might be able to play tomorrow or the next game, but right now it's not so clear."

Adam Lallana is definitely out of tomorrow's game, but De Zerbi added of Ferguson: “We’ll see tomorrow. We’ll be ready to try and win. It’ll be more difficult, we’ll find it more difficult to score."

Brighton are away to Crystal Palace next weekend and host Fulham the following Saturday,
