Eva Longoria has described her long-time friend Victoria Beckham as “the most loyal friend you could ever ask for”.
The former Desperate Housewives star appeared on Tuesday’s Lorraine where she spoke about her close bond with Beckham, revealing that they became “inseparable” when the fashion designer and her family moved to Los Angeles.
At the time, the Beckhams swapped their home in Madrid for the West Coast of the United States when Beckham’s husband David played for LA Galaxy between 2007 and 2009.
Speaking to the show’s resident entertainment correspondent Ross King, the actress said of Beckham: “It wasn’t until they moved to Los Angeles, when David started playing for LA Galaxy, that I did start to go to a lot of those games with Victoria.
“We were inseparable. I mean, she’s the funniest human being — the loveliest, kindest, most loyal friend you could ever ask for.
“So, she’s like, ‘you know, you have to go with me to these matches.’ I was like, ‘Oh. God. Is it like soccer? I don’t know where the ball is! Where’s the ball?’”
The star, who is godmother to the couple’s daughter Harper, also quipped that she would be another Spice Girl should there be a Spice Girls reunion in the future.
She joked: “I am secretly the fifth, Spicy Spice. So nobody’s called me!”
Longoria also revealed she was keen for a Desperate Housewives reboot, ahead of the show’s 20th anniversary next year.
She said: “I’d be the first one to sign up. I’d probably be the only one.
“I always tell Marc [Cherry, the show’s creator], ‘So, you wouldn’t do a reboot?’ He just thinks we have fully mined those characters.
“He doesn’t know what else there is to say about those characters.”
Although, the Hollywood star admitted that she suggested that he should work on spin-off, adding: “I think he’d do a new show on Wisteria Lane. A new set of women.”
