Shocking footage has captured the moment mourners flee from a funeral service in Euston after a gunman opens fire.

A seven-year-old girl was among six people injured in a drive-by shooting outside St Aloysius Church in Somers Town, near Euston in central London, on Saturday afternoon.

Disturbing CCTV footage released by Sky News shows panicked mourners fleeing the scene after the shooting on Phoneix Road. Several women can be heard screaming after shots were fired.

Scotland Yard said shotgun pellets were fired from a black Toyota C-HR at around 1.30pm before it was driven off.

A man, aged 22, was arrested in connection with the attack after a car was stopped in Cricklewood Lane, Barnet, shortly before 4pm on Sunday.

He has been taken into custody.

A girl, aged 12, suffered a leg injury but has been discharged from hospital, while a 48-year-old woman sustained life-changing injuries, and three other women, aged 21, 41, and 58, were hurt.

The victims were leaving a service for British-Colombian Sara Sanchez, 20, and her mother Fresia Calderon, 50, when the attacker fired a shotgun.

Met Police detectives confirmed emergency services had found "multiple people with injuries caused by pellets from a shotgun".

Father Jeremy Trood, who was conducting the service, said: "They were very scared, people sheltered in the church until the police said they can leave but some of them were so scared they had to wait a while to get their confidence back up."

Sir Keir Starmer, who is the local MP, said police had assured him there would be "extra patrols and community support" following the "appalling" incident.
