Eurovision winner was forced to leave his Liverpool hotel naked

Måns Zelmerlöw was forced out naked into the streets of Liverpool after a fire alarm went off in his hotel.

The singer walked away victorious in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest and went on to become a household name for pop fans across Europe. After hosting the contest alongside Petra Mede, he's become a regular when it comes to Eurovision content.

He joins the BBC's Eurovision cast as one of its four presenters in the lead-up to the Liverpool shows. Kicking off the series with a discussion on the Insignia Handover, Måns was asked what the city needs to do to stand out.

He said: "I just want it to be noticeable everywhere. When we had it in Stockholm, the underground tube voiceovers were changed and so were the tickers at a road crossing to the Eurovision anthem. You just need to notice it everywhere."

The singer, 36, was quizzed on whether or not he's ever visited the city which prompted a hilarious anecdote that saw him locked outside in the buff.

He added: "I have been to Liverpool. I ended up naked in the street outside of our hotel after the fire alarm went off. I was there because my wife was recording Hollyoaks and I was taking care of the kids."

Måns' wife, Ciara, 35, had a brief guest appearance on the soap opera playing Nicole Owen but he joked her job resulted in him having the time of his life. He added: "I got to sit in an actual fire truck to cover up with a blanket."
