Eurovision star Sam Ryder bringing Space Man tour to Newcastle - here’s how to get tickets

Eurovision sensation Sam Ryder has announced dates for his new UK tour - and much to the delight of North East fans, it’s set to include a stop-off in Newcastle .

The star wowed viewers around the world by belting out his original hit Space Man on the Eurovision stage, ultimately bagging the UK second place in the coveted competition - the best result since 1998. First rising to fame on TikTok after posting covers of popular songs, the 32-year-old recently performed his Eurovision hit at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Party at the Palace.

Sam is set to release his debut album, There’s Nothing But Space, Man!, on October 14 this year, with CDs and cassettes available to pre-order now on the singer’s official store. The star will be touring the album in 2023, with 11 dates across the UK announced so far.

The star will visit Newcastle on Thursday March 23, to play at the O2 City Hall . The tour also includes stop-offs in Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds as the next-closest options if any North East fans miss out on Newcastle tickets.

Priority Tickets will be on sale from 9am on Wednesday June 15, and general ticket sales will go live from 9am on Friday June 17. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster , and anyone hoping to snap up tickets can also keep an eye on the O2 City Hall website .

First opened in 1927, the O2 City Hall on Northumberland Road is one of Newcastle’s oldest and most-loved entertainment venues - with a stellar line-up of acts already set to grace the stage next year alongside Sam. Comedian Jon Richardson will visit the venue in April 2023, and musical theatre star Carrie Hope Fletcher will perform songs from across her career in June next year.

Any Sam Ryder fans hoping to catch sight of the Eurovision superstar a little earlier than March can tune in to Celebrity Gogglebox as the new series airs each Friday on Channel 4. Sam was recently announced as one of the new celebrity couch critics, joining DJ Scott Mills on the sofa to watch the biggest TV shows of the week.
