Eurovision Song Contest 2023: Eight reasons why Bristol should host contest

The Eurovision Song Contest usually takes place in the country of the reigning champion. But its organisers have decided that Ukraine, which won this year’s competition, cannot host the event in 2023 due to the ongoing Russian invasion.

As the UK was the runner-up, there has been excitement about Eurovision potentially returning to the UK for the first time in 25 years. But which UK city should host it?

London has been the host city four times, while Edinburgh, Brighton, Harrogate and Birmingham have also staged the event. London, Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff, Aberdeen and Leeds are among the cities that have already thrown their hats into the ring to host Eurovision 2023 – but we can think of loads of reasons why Bristol should be the top choice.
