Liverpool's Eurovision Song Contest slogan contains a secret nod to The Beatles.
St George's Hall has been spruced up in preparation for the first big milestone in the Eurovision calendar - the Insignia Handover. Yesterday saw banners draped across the iconic building to represent the contest finally landing in the city.
The logo is brighter and more electric than ever with the chosen colours representing excitement and diversity, according to producers. With more than 160 million viewers tuning in to the Turin contest in 2022, the string of hearts celebrates a shared cultural experience as "millions of hearts beat as one."

Die-hard Eurovision fans spent very little time deciphering any other references they could find in the banner and eventually stumbled upon a small nod to Liverpool legends, The Beatles.
This year's slogan, United By Music, was crafted using a bold text that some font fanatics eventually discovered was called 'Penny Lane.' This of course carries a link to the band's track of the same name which was released as a double A-side single along with Strawberry Fields Forever in 1967.
Martin Green, BBC Eurovision's Managing Director confirmed to the Liverpool Echo that the font was chosen on purpose as a nod to the city and its music lineage. He said: "The font is indeed Penny Lane which I hope needs no explanation at all but it signifies the amount of detail that we've gone into to create this show.
"You'll see this rolled out increasingly as we get towards May across the city and when we start to dress it."
