Eurovision fans have 'nightmares' about Sweden winner Loreen's nails as they ask same question

It was a spectacular night in Liverpool for the Eurovision song contest final, which saw Sweden's entry Loreen crowned champion.

Loreen - whose real name is Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui - previously represented her country in Baku when she won the overall competition with the song 'Euphoria'.

Sweden were favourites to win this year's contest, with odds of 1/2 according to Ladbrokes. But fans of the show were somewhat distracted throughout her performance - by her incredibly long nails.

Fans took to social media on Saturday night, warning they were going to have 'nightmares' - comparing her outfit to that of Edward Scissorhands.

But others had a more burning question on their mind.

One person wrote on Twitter: "Nobody has asked the important question of Eurovision...how did Loreen go to the loo in that outfit with those nails? Did she not drink all evening?

Another said: "How does Loreen go to the toilet with those nails. One person wrote: "Hope Loreen hasn’t needed the toilet yet with those nails."

Other fans commented during the show they were terrified the singer was going to cause some serious damage with the nails.

One said on Twitter: "Was a tad concerned that Loreen would poke her own eyes out with those nails when she clasped her hands to her mouth that fast. Congrats on a very big and deserved win Sweden."

Another wrote: "Loreen is gonna have someone's eye of with those nails!! Another said: "Thinking about Loreen’s dedicated “nails remover” and hoping they got the credit they deserve."

It was announced last year that the UK would host the 67th Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the Ukraine where the event would have traditionally been held after Kalush Orchestra stormed to victory in Turin back in May 2022.

But the ongoing Russian invasion resulted in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) deciding it was not a 'viable option' for the country to host the contest.

And on Saturday night (May 13), 26 acts and bands took to the stage and gave it all they had got in a bid to be crowned the Eurovision 2023 champions and walk away with the coveted trophy.

Sweden were crowned winner's after totalling a massive 583 points, followed closely by Finland's favourite, Käärijä with his catchy song 'Cha Cha Cha' scoring 526 points.

It wasn't a great night for the UK's Mae Muller, who came to second to last with 24 points.
