Country girl band Remember Monday will fly the flag for the UK at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, according to reports.
The trio - who comprise of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele - took part in TV singing competition The Voice back in 2019 and they have also performed at festivals including BST Hyde Park, Country to Country, The Long Road and Buckle and Boots.
Their signing would mark a bold new direction from last year's Euro-pop entry by Olly Alexander.
A source told The Sun: “As ever behind the scenes competition has been fierce to represent the UK.
“This year bosses have opted to shake things up and send a female trio, Remember Monday.

“The song is a stark change from Olly Alexander last year but the girls are sure to get the nation behind them.”
Years and Years frontman Alexander’s entry Dizzy received no votes from the public last year in Malmo, Sweden, disappointingly finishing in 18th place out of 25. All of his 46 points came from the jury.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show last month, he was asked by the host if he had any advice for this year’s entry.
“Maybe, just get yourself a really good therapist,” he replied jokingly, resulting in the audience bursting into laughter.

Remember Monday will be hoping to fare better with the grand final for this year’s Eurovision is set to take place in St Jakobshalle, Basel, Switzerland on May 17.
Indications look promising with BBC Radio 2 Breakfast host Scott Mills revealing recently that he has already heard the UK’s entry.
“By the way, I’m probably not supposed to say this… I heard our Eurovision song yesterday,” he told his listeners teasingly.
“Can’t say who it’s by, I can’t say… they locked me in a room.”
“It’s good,” he simply added.
The Standard has contacted a representative for Eurovision for comment.
