Eurovision 2023 semi-final 1 qualifiers - countries who went through on Tuesday

Ten countries from the first Eurovision semi-final are through to Saturday's Grand Final.

The first live show aired tonight from Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena. After 15 acts performed, the public, outside the UK, were given the chance to vote for their favourite.

In a change to the rules this year, the decision rested entirely with the public. The full list of countries that competed in the Eurovision semi-final tonight, the song and act representing them, and the running order in which they will perform was as follows:

  1. Norway: Queen of Kings - Alessandra
  2. Malta: Dance (Our Own Party) - The Busker
  3. Serbia: Samo mi se spava - Luke Black
  4. Latvia: Aijā - Sudden Lights
  5. Portugal: Ai Coração - Mimicat
  6. Ireland: We Are One - Wild Youth
  7. Croatia: Mama ŠČ! - Let 3
  8. Switzerland: Watergun - Remo Forrer
  9. Israel: Unicorn - Noa Kirel
  10. Moldova: Soarele și Luna - Pasha Parfeni
  11. Sweden: Tattoo - Loreen
  12. Azerbaijan: Tell Me More - TuralTuranX
  13. Czechia: My Sister's Crown - Vesna
  14. Netherlands: Burning Daylight - Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper
  15. Finland: Cha Cha Cha - Käärijä

But only the 10 highest-scoring acts from the countries competing in tonight's semi-final could go through to the Grand Final. Following the vote, the following countries qualified for the final.

  • 10 more finalists from Thursday's second semi final will go through to Saturday's show. The UK, along with Ukraine, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, are automatically through to the grand final on Saturday night.

    The second semi-final takes place on Thursday May 11 at 8pm and will feature the same broadcasting line up from the BBC.
