Eurovision 2023: Princess Kate's cameo and was she actually playing piano?

Eurovision fans were left stunned during the opening of the singing competition extravaganza on Saturday when Her Royal Highness Princess Kate put in a cameo appearance.

As an emotional rendition from last year's winners, Kalush Orchestra, got underway, UK's runner-up from 2022 Sam Ryder could be seen performing a guitar solo from the top of the Liver building. Princess Kate could be seen in a blue gown playing some chords on the piano.

Fans were clearly taken aback by her appearance. Taking to Twitter, Philip said: "WTF WAS THAT KATE PRINCESS OF WALES ON PIANO?"

Thomas said: "Didn't expect to see Kate Middleton on the piano in the intro", Amiel said: "Kate for UK EUROVISION 2024", and Rebecca said: "KATE???? THAT WAS KATE?"

The Princess of Wales was indeed playing the piano. It comes after she gave a musical performance alongside Tom Walker at a Christmas concert back in December 2021.

Her Royal Highness is a former pianist with a grade 5 music theory. She was taught between the ages of 11 and 13, alongside her brother James, sister Pippa, and mother Carole.
