Memphis Depay has agreed to terminate his contract with Barcelona – making him a free agent, with Juventus favourites to snap up the Dutch international.
By no means a flop in his one season at the Nou Camp, Depay scored 13 goals in 38 appearances for Barca – but the 28-year-old striker is not in coach Xavi's plans for this season.
According to well-placed Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Depay and the Catalan giants agreed terms to part company at the weekend.
The former Manchester United forward has already recorded a farewell video in Spanish, and it will be aired once he has agreed a deal to find alternative employment – with Turin his likeliest destination.
Juventus are looking to rebuild their front line around Dusan Vlahovic, and following the departures of Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala, the Old Lady has room – on the pitch and the payroll – for Depay.
Feyenoord sign Hancko
Feyenoord have announced the signing of centre-back David Hancko from Czech club Sparta Prague on a four-year deal.
Hancko, 24, was fast-tracked to Rotterdam after the sale of Marco Senesi, who endured a difficult Bournemouth debut in the 3-0 home defeat by Arsenal.
After protracted negotiations for Hancko, the Dutch club finally tethered him to a four-year deal, with the Slovakian international telling Feyenoord's club website: “The interest has been going on for a while, so I’m glad the clubs got out and it feels good to be here. I am convinced that this is the right time for me to take this step.”
Acerbi on his way out
Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is heading to Inter Milan on loan – if the clubs can thrash out a clause with an obligation to make the transfer permanent.
According to broadcasters Sky Sport Italia, there is also a stumbling block regarding 34-year-old Acerbi's wages for the last two months, with Lazio reluctant to pay them if he promptly leaves for the San Siro.
Inter have pressed ahead with a move for Acerbi after their patience wore thin trying to finalise a deal for Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji.
