Cristiano Ronaldo and Matthijs de Ligt are the main names making the headlines across Europe as the transfer window gets set to go into overdrive
Juventus defender De Ligt was locked in talks with Chelsea before opting to join Bayern Munich - while Ronaldo is still looking for a way out of Manchester United. And as the temperature spikes in the UK, things will continue to heat up in the transfer market across the continent.
Atletico an option for Ronaldo
United continue to insist that Ronaldo is not for sale but Spanish newspaper AS insist that Atletico Madrid are the latest club to enter the race.
Diego Simeone is a huge fan of the Portuguese, who is known to retain a lot of affection for life in Madrid after playing there for Real. But Atletico would not be able to afford Ronaldo without selling players and AS say that must happen first, with the club currently on a watching brief.
De Ligt medical this week
The full details of De Ligt's €80m move to Bayern are just beginning to emerge, with the player set to sign a five-year contract.
Multiple reports in Italy claim the 22-year-old Dutch centre back is ready for the next stage of his career after three years in Turin, and will actually accept a small drop in salary. As reported by TMW, Bayern have agreed to pay Juventus €70m in a fixed fee plus around €10m in add-ons, and he will complete his medical tests this week.
Lewandowski outlines ambitions
Meanwhile in Barcelona all the talk is about the arrival of Robert Lewandowski in a £42.5m transfer from Bayern Munich.
And the likes of Sport and Mundo Deportivo gleefully report his comments today that he is here "to help the club return to the top and win as many titles as possible."
It's also revealed that Barca want to give him the number 9 shirt currently owned by Memphis Depay, who could be set to leave.
