European transfer news: Lewandowski makes strike decision and Vinicius Junior's new value

Barcelona continue to be active in the transfer market despite the supposed handicap of a salary cap because of their one billion euro debts.

They have verbally agreed to meet Leeds' asking price for Raphinha and are set to re-sign Ousmane Dembele while trying to offset this expenditure by selling a reluctant Frenkie de Jong to Manchester United.

The Robert Lewandowski saga rumbles on and Chelsea are attempting to hijack Barcelona's bid to sign him because they have still not struck a deal with Bayern Munich.

Mirror Sport has the latest Euro transfer news, including updates on Lewandowski and Vinicius Junior.

Lewandowski opts not to strike

The MailOnline report that the wantaway Robert Lewandowski has backed down from going on strike to force Bayern Munich into granting him his wish to join Barcelona.

Lewandowski told Bayern at the end of last season that he wants to leave, but Barcelona have yet to meet Bayern's £42.7million or 50million euro valuation, leaving him stuck in limbo.

The Poland striker, who has entered the final year of his Bayern deal, has decided not to take Bayern on and reported for pre-season training on Tuesday as scheduled.

He arrived in a Bentley at Bayern's medical facility to begin his health checks ahead of starting his pre-season training programme. Lewandowski, 33, still hopes to leave this summer, with Chelsea also keen, and will not rock the boat in the meantime.

Real Madrid star second most-valuable player

Football Espana claim Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior is now the second most-valuable player in the world.

Vinicius turned 22 on Tuesday and has worth has soared since Real officially bought him in 2018 for £39million. The Brazil striker, who scored 22 goals last season, including his priceless winner against Liverpool in the Champions League Final is now estimated to have a market value of at least £125million.

This figure will only rise when he signs his new five-year deal at Real.

PSG want £85million from player sales

PSGtalk carry a report from L'Equipe that Paris St Germain want to raise £85million or 100million euros this summer in the transfer market by offloading surplus players.

PSG's transfer supremos Luis Campos and Antero Henrique are willing to listen to offers for as many as 11 players.

They have already sold Goncalo Guedes to Valencia for £34million and have slapped a £30million pricetag on the head of Leandro Paredes and £25million on Abdou Diallo.

PSG are determined to trim their bloated squad in a bid to create a more-unified and manageable pool of players.
