British Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged his European counterparts to strengthen their borders and stand in solidarity with Ukraine as he outlined a plan to end Russia's war. During a meeting with 18 fellow leaders, Starmer emphasized the importance of each nation contributing to the collective effort, with a focus on bolstering Ukraine's defenses and maintaining economic pressure on Russia.
Starmer, in collaboration with France and Ukraine, proposed a four-point plan to achieve peace, which includes ensuring aid to Kyiv, supporting Ukraine's sovereignty, continuing to arm Ukraine, and forming a 'coalition of the willing' to defend Ukraine and secure peace.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for strong U.S. backing for any peace agreement, highlighting the importance of a security guarantee from the U.S. to prevent future conflicts. Starmer also expressed his trust in President Trump and emphasized the close alignment between the U.S. and the U.K. in defense and security matters.

European leaders, including Macron and von der Leyen, echoed Starmer's calls for unity and increased security measures. Von der Leyen emphasized the need to 'rearm Europe' to enhance the bloc's security capabilities, while Macron proposed a temporary truce to facilitate negotiations for a lasting peace.
Starmer's commitment to boosting military spending and supplying arms to Ukraine reflects a broader European effort to fortify Ukraine's defenses and deter potential invaders. The summit, attended by leaders from various European nations and key organizations, marked a pivotal moment in Europe's response to the ongoing conflict.
