image

Are you an outdoor enthusiast, always looking for your next adventure? Then Europe is the place to be! This continent is home to some of the most amazing mountain ranges and breathtaking coastlines, perfect for all kinds of outdoors activities. Let’s have a look at some of our favourite destinations!

Hiking the Eastern Dolomites on the Alta Via 1

Being one of the most popular hiking routes in Europe, the Alta Via 1 in the Eastern Dolomites is full of surprises. This route is roughly 120 kilometers, going from Cortina to Belluno. The whole hike is filled with adventures and stunning landscapes of mountain peaks, valleys, and alpine meadows. Since it does take about 11 days to complete, you can stay in traditional mountain huts known as “rifugi”, for an authentic experience,

Hiking and walking holidays in Italy are not just great because of their landscapes, but also the local culture too. This area has a lot of historical significance as well as so many opportunities to embrace the country. You will try the best that Italian cuisine has to offer and hear stories from local people.

Cycling the Danube Cycle Path

Located between Germany and Hungary, the Danube Cycle Path is the most famous cycling adventure in Europe, also known as the Donauradweg. This path takes you through lots of historical towns and diverse landscapes. Not only that, you will get the chance to visit some of the most iconic European cities, including Vienna and Budapest.

As you cycle along the Danube river, take in the vineyards and rolling hills of this beautiful region. The experience is suitable for cyclists of all levels, as you can take it at your own pace. All you need to have is a bike and an adventurous spirit!

Kayaking in the Norwegian fjords

Outdoors do not get any more beautiful than Norwegian nature… The country has a number of areas with fjords, waterfalls, cliffs and mountains. Some of the best areas to visit are Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord, both of which are recognised UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Although you can simply hike around the area, a brilliant way to take it in is through kayaking in the fjords! Surrounded by majestic landscapes and calm waters, you are guaranteed an unforgettable experience. The best time to go in terms of weather is May to September, as it does get cold in the Winter months.

Paragliding in Interlaken, Switzerland

This one is not for the faint-hearted! If paragliding is something you’ve always wanted to try, the beautiful town of Interlaken in Switzerland provides the perfect opportunity. The town is situated between two lakes and the Swiss Alps, which offers unbelievable views, particularly from the sky.

There are plenty of local paragliding operators that will accommodate you, but the most active time is usually between April and October due to more stable weather conditions. During these months, you will enjoy both the lush greenery and the snow-capped mountains.

Conclusion

Whether it’s a long walking holiday or a cycling trip, Europe does not disappoint with its many outdoor activities. Get the opportunity to explore these amazing destinations on your next adventure!
