Europa League draw in full as Man Utd and Arsenal discover group stage opponents

Manchester United will take on Real Sociedad, Sheriff Tiraspol and Cypriot side Omonoia in the group stages of the Europa League as they look to end their lengthy trophy drought.

Europe's secondary competition remains their last piece of silverware following their success in 2017 under Jose Mourinho. Erik ten Hag is now the man in charge and will have to take his side to Spain and Moldova.

Arsenal, who narrowly missed out on the top four last term, are England's only other representative in the competition and have been put into a group with PSV Eindhoven and Bodo/Glimt.

Victory in the Europa League grants access to the Champions League the following season with last season's champions, Frankfurt, being allocated into pot 1 for the draw that took place on Thursday evening. That is an attractive prospect for several of the teams involved in Friday's draw.

Jose Mourinho's Roma side are among the big hitters currently in the competition. The Special One won this competition with United and Porto back in 2003 when it was known as the UEFA Cup. The Italian side have been drawn with Copa del Rey winners Real Betis.

Monaco, another side who will fancy their chances in this season's tournament, have been paired in a group with Red Star Belgrade. The competition will also welcome those who finish third in their Champions League group come the knockout stages.
