Europa Conference League group stage pots as Shamrock Rovers learn potential opponents

Shamrock Rovers will discover their Europa Conference League group stage opponents this afternoon.

The draw is scheduled to start at 1.30pm Irish time and there are some big names in the hat.

Rovers drop into competition following their 4-1 aggregate defeat to Hungarian side Ferencvaros, with the Hoops winning 1-0 at Tallaght last night following a 4-0 defeat in Budapest seven days beforehand.

Stephen Bradley's side are in Pot 3 for the draw, meaning they cannot face the likes of Scottish side Hearts, French club Nice or Sivasspor of Turkey.

Another side that Rovers will not be facing in the Conference League is Linfield after the Belfast club conceded an own goal in added time of extra-time against RFS on Thursday night before losing on penalties.

West Ham, Villareal and Basel are among the names in a tough-looking Pot 1, while Fiorentina is one of the big names in Pot 2. Here are the four Pots in full:

Pot 1: Villareal, Basel, Slavia Prague, AZ Alkmaar, Gent, Istanbul Basaksehir, Partizan Belgrade and West Ham.

Pot 2: CFR Cluj, Molde, FCSB, Fiorentina, Koln, Hapoel Beer-Sheva, Apollon and Slovan Bratislava.

Pot 3: Nice, Anderlecht, Zalgiris, Austria Wien, Hearts, Shamrock Rovers, Sivasspor and Vaduz.

Pot 4: Dnipro-1, Lech, Slovacko, Silkeborg, Djurgarden, Pyunik, RFS and Ballkani.
