A couple with three young children have told of how they “freaked out” after becoming millionaires thanks to a winning EuroMillions ticket. Lucky winner Calum Forrington said that he was in “complete shock” after remembering to check his ticket online the morning after the draw.
“I had to go outside to get some air,” the 37-year-old recalled after discovering his huge win. Still in a state of shock, Calum headed into work for the day and told his boss of his million-pound win, The Mirror reports .
“He must have realised I was unlikely to get any work done that day so sent me home to sort everything out and try to get my head around it all,” he said.

Calum and his wife Kayleigh, 35, are now planning to buy their dream house with the winnings, as well as buying new cars and jetting off to Disneyland Paris with their kids. The couple said that the life-changing money will mean they can be homeowners for the very first time, and added that they “can’t wait to tell the kids” the 2023 summer holiday they had been saving for can be brought forward to this year.
Calum, who lost both his parents 18 years ago, said of the win: “It feels like my parents are watching over me. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and I’m looking forward to using our win to help build an amazing future for our children.”
The couple, who are from Grimsby, also have a trip to Rome on their wish list for their first wedding anniversary in September. Calum’s winning EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker code for the EuroMillions draw on Friday 17 June was MXQG18797.
