Meanwhile, a Dublin syndicate who won the €3.6 million Lotto jackpot on Wednesday 25th May officially claimed their life-altering prize in Lotto HQ . The win marked the fifth Lotto jackpot win of 2022 following wins by players in Mayo, Meath, Dublin and Kilkenny.
The delighted Dublin syndicate who wish to keep their win private revealed that they were sitting on their Lotto fortune for days after their win before realising they had won the €3.6 million jackpot.
“We had a winning Lotto jackpot sitting idle for days before we even checked it! On the Friday after the draw, we were sitting watching the news on TV and we saw the champagne being sprayed at the winning shop in Home Farm where we sometimes buy our tickets. Even then, not for a second would we believe that we would have had the winning ticket so we didn’t get our hopes up! When we finally scanned it on our phone, our mouths actually dropped to the floor. All this excitement was for us, we had just won over €3.6 million.”
The syndicate have vowed to keep their feet on the ground and will take some time out before making any decisions on their new found fortune.
“The money is just a bonus to us so we won’t be getting too carried away. We’ll take a few months before making any life-changing decisions but we do have a mortgage to pay off and we will of course make a plan to look after family and friends in the very near future,” they added.
