In a recent podcast episode of “Urbonus,” BasketNews’ Donatas Urbonas discussed how former EuroLeague MVP Vasilije Micic is leaning towards playing in the NBA but not for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Urbonas said he thinks Micic would only agree to join the NBA if he was traded to a team that would give him an immediate role. Considering the Thunder are rebuilding and Micic’s age of 28 years old does not fit the timeline. — along with the fact that the team has a surplus of young guards already on the roster — it’s hard to envision a steady rotation spot for him.

Of course, this is all just speculation from Urbonas’ side. But considering he is a significantly big media member for European basketball, what he notes should be taken a little bit more seriously than the average Joe.
Micic recently won the EuroLeague Final Four MVP as his team won the EuroLeague championship. The Thunder acquired Micic’s draft rights from the Philadelphia 76ers in the Al Horford trade. Micic was drafted 52nd overall in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft by the Sixers.
