One resident in Eureka, California, recently shared his experience of feeling vibrations from an earthquake that lasted for about 30 seconds. Describing the event as 'long and rolling,' he mentioned that the vibrations were not sharp in nature. At the end of the quake, the resident, John Wrigley, reported feeling almost seasick, as if he was on a ship. Fortunately, he did not experience any damage to his home.
Having lived in Humboldt County for nearly his entire life, Wrigley reached out to neighbors and friends in the community and had not heard of any reports of damage elsewhere in the coastal town. The Eureka city manager also confirmed that there were no immediate reports of damage in the area.
Wrigley, who has experienced approximately 10 earthquakes while residing in the county, noted that Thursday's earthquake was the longest one he has experienced there. Despite the prolonged duration of the quake, no significant damage was reported, providing a sense of relief to residents in the region.
