Eton College terrorised by masked gunman 'targeting strangers' as locals fear he'll return

Eton College has been terrorised by a masked gunman who was seen 'shooting at passersby'.

Thames Valley Police said the man, wearing a hoodie and sinister Covid face mask, stalked the streets and pointed a gun at car drivers before fleeing.

It happened between 9.30am and 10am in Bunces Close and Eton Wick Road on Wednesday and local residents fear he may attack again.

The school, where Boris Johnson, David Cameron, Prince William and Prince Harry were educated, is just over a mile away.

The first victim, a man in his 70s, was driving along the road, near to the junction of Eton Wick Road, when the masked man approached his car and pointed what appeared to be a small firearm at him.

He heard a bang and drove off.

Though badly shocked he was not injured and his vehicle was not hit.

Shortly after this, the second victim, a man in his 60s, was in his vehicle on Eton Wick Road when the same offender 'gestured towards him' with the firearm. The victim drove away.

The man is believed to have left the area in the direction of the River Thames, taking the footpath alongside the allotments on Eton Wick Road.

There was no evidence of any firearm discharge from subsequent specialist police searches in the area.

Detectives are working to establish whether it was an air weapon or other type of firearm.
