Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium has been nominated for a Best Landmark award alongside Warwick Castle.
Nominees for the Remarkable Venue Awards, which celebrate the best museums and attractions in the UK, US, UAE, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain, were announced this morning (September 1).
The annual tourism awards are based on more than 1.1 million customer reviews of venues on Tiqets.com. Each region will be celebrated with individual winners for the Most Remarkable Venue, Best Attraction, Best Museum, Best Landmark and Best Onsite Experience awards.

The Etihad Stadium is one of four nominees for the Best Landmark award, alongside the Royal Liver Building, the Stamford Bridge stadium tour, and Warwick Castle.
Built to host the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the Etihad Stadium is the tenth largest stadium in the UK. The £112 million building was taken over by Manchester City in 2013 and remains the fifth-largest stadium in the Premier League with a domestic football capacity of 53,400.
Over the years, the Etihad Stadium has hosted the 2008 UEFA Cup Final, England’s final group match of the 2015 Rugby World Cup and is also a popular venue for large music concerts and events.
Altogether, 20 venues in the UK have been nominated for the regional awards. Osborne House, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, the Tower of London and Windsor Castle have all been nominated for Most Remarkable Venue. The nominees for Best Museum are the British Museum Experience, Brooklands Museum, The Postal Museum and Titanic Belfast.
Tiqets CEO Laurens Leurink said: “The nominees for this year's Remarkable Venue Awards represent the best that the museum and attraction industry has to offer – they’ve received rave reviews from more than a million Tiqets customers worldwide.
“We're proud to be working with these fantastic venues and we’re excited to celebrate all of them through the 2022 Remarkable Venue Awards.”
Regional winners will be announced later this month, while the global winners will be unveiled at a glitzy ceremony at the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS) in Seville in November.
Venues can submit themselves for two application-based awards - Best Hidden Gem and Most Innovative Venue - until September 8. A panel of industry experts will then select the nominees.
