Ethan Nwaneri Injury News: Arsenal Star Will Be Back 'Soon'

The latest Ethan Nwaneri injury news has revealed that Arsenal expect to have the 17-year-old available for selection ‘soon.’

Against Brighton on January 4, Nwaneri was subbed off at half-time after complaining of a muscle strain. It was unclear at the time how long the academy starlet would be out for.

Earlier in the match against the Seagulls, Nwaneri made history by becoming the first Gunner to score multiple Premier League goals before turning 18.

Many feared that Nwaneri would be ruled out for a number of weeks. A return in February was also touted but it appears his return is much more imminent.

The positive revelation will be a huge boost to everybody involved with the club. In particular the supporters who were probably fearing the worst when Nwaneri didn’t reappear for the second-half at the Amex.

On Sunday, the north Londoners endured another cruel twist of fate when Gabriel Jesus was stretchered off against Manchester United with a knee injury.

It has now been revealed that the Brazilian forward has likely ruptured his ACL. Meaning he is very unlikely to feature again this season.

Latest Ethan Nwaneri Injury News Bodes Well Arsenal

With Arsenal still missing Bukayo Saka, his understudy Ethan Nwaneri has provided a timely boost for Arsenal. During Tuesday’s press conference ahead of the north London derby, Mikel Arteta provided an update.

Nwaneri is good. He has started to do some work on the pitch already. He is evolving well, he is young, he is healing very, very fast so hopefully we can have him soon.”

Arteta’s words will surely provide the perfect tonic that fans wanted to hear after recent sluggish results on the pitch. Last Tuesday, the Gunners were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg.

Against Manchester United in the FA Cup 3rd round, Arteta’s side lost 5-3 to the Red Devils on penalties after the match finished 1-1 AET.

However, a victory over rivals Tottenham and having Nwaneri back on the pitch will surely see the Reds regain some much-needed confidence.

The academy star has been a revelation this season. Not only has he starred in the Carabao Cup, Nwaneri’s Premier League form has seen his stock rise dramtically.

Ahead of Wednesday crunch derby, the best football betting sites in the UK price the Gunners as the 4/9 favourites. Tottenham can be backed at 13/2 with the draw 43/10.
