Watford are reportedly in "advanced talks" over to sign Hibs striker Ethan Laidlaw as he approaches the end of his Easter Road contract.
The Athletic state the Scotland Under-19 international is finalising a long-term deal at Vicarage Road. His contract at the Scottish Premiership club expires at the end of May and Watford will have to pay compensation — expected to be in the region of £250,000 — to complete the move.
Lee Johnson's side have offered him a new deal at Easter Road but he is closing in on a move to the English Championship. Laidlaw was watched by Watford during Hibernian’s UEFA Youth League campaign where he enjoyed a prolific run of form. He has previously had trials with the likes of Liverpool and Leeds United but now appears set to bring the curtain down on his time in Leith.
