Ethan Erhahon says leaving St Mirren was 'hardest decision ever' after joining Lincoln City

Midfielder Ethan Erhahon has described deciding to leave Paisley after more than 15 years as the hardest decision of his life.

The 21-year-old came all the way through the St Mirren academy, playing more than 100 games in the stripes.

And after joining English League One side Lincoln City, the popular talent has bid a fond farewell to the club's supporters on social media.

Erhahon said: "St Mirren, the club I have been part of for 17 years. Where I grew from a four-year old boy to a man. I would like to thank all the staff, players and fans for all the support and motivation that I have had throughout the years.

"You have been amazing and have given me the best foundation and platform that any player could wish for. Leaving in this transfer window has been the hardest decision ever, as I am leaving the best group of lads and coaching staff.

"I wish them all the very best for the remainder of the season. Paisley is in my DNA so this is not a final goodbye...see you at my testimonial!"

Erhahon gained international recognition during his time at St Mirren, working his way up to the Scotland Under-21s. Now he's determined to push on and make a name for himself in England, a place he's always wanted to test himself in.

He told Lincoln City's official website: “I have always said I wanted to play in England and push myself to the next level. I feel Lincoln is the right place and club for the next stage in my development, and I’m really looking forward to getting going.

"Jez George came up to Scotland to speak to me which meant a lot, the club showed they wanted me and I was impressed with the plans for the club – hopefully we can go far together.

"I'm very grateful for everything St Mirren have done for me.”
