ESPN Shuffles Lineup of No. 2 ‘Monday Night Football’ Crew

A year after Joe Buck and Troy Aikman moved from Fox to ESPN for their Monday Night Football broadcast, the global sports network is making another change to its NFL announcer lineup.

Chris Fowler will reportedly replace Steve Levy on the network’s No. 2 Monday night team this upcoming season, according to the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand.

Fowler used to work alongside Kirk Herbstreit for the ESPN’s No. 2 NFL crew before Herbstreit went to Amazon Prime. The previous No. 1 crew, consisting of Levy, Louis Riddick and Dan Orlovsky, became last season’s No. 2 crew. It’s unknown as of now if Riddick and Orlovsky will work alongside Fowler.

ESPN recently signed a new deal with the NFL to allow them five extra games to broadcast in upcoming seasons, including one international game. It is expected that Fowler will work these additional games. Buck and Aikman will continue to work the network’s primary Monday Night Football games.

Fowler is most known for being ESPN’s top college football play-by-play announcer. He works with Herbstreit every weekend on College Gameday and broadcasting the network’s No. 1 college football game.

Fowler recently signed an extension with ESPN, but the details are unknown. He’s worked with the network since 1986, and he continues to cover other various sports like tennis and college basketball.
