ESPN’s Zach Lowe says Celtics have ‘maybe the best defense I’ve ever seen’

The Boston Celtics have collectively put together a monster of epic proportions on the defensive end of the ball, smothering opposing defenses with staggering effectiveness to the point that they have managed to slow down two of the greatest scorers in the history of the modern game in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving enough to take a 2 – 0 lead over the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the East playoffs.

This defensive dominance has not gone unnoticed — in fact, far from it. NBA analysts are currently doing their best to contextualize it in recent league history with ESPN’s Zach Lowe going as far as to call it “maybe the best defense I’ve ever seen.”

As Lowe notes, there “are no weak spots to pick at; they switch everything, they don’t make mistakes.”

And now with news that the Celtics will see injured big man Robert Williams III back on the court as soon as Game 3 or 4 of the series, the defensive capabilities of the team are by no means going to get worse.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear Lowe and the rest of the hosts of “NBA Today” talk all things Boston and defense.
