Until head coach Frank Reich gets his offense going, you probably won’t have to reach for your favorite Carolina Panthers players in a 2023 fantasy football draft. But there is one to keep a close eye on.
On Friday, ESPN NFL insider Field Yates released his latest top 100 rankings for the upcoming fantasy campaign. Included in his list, based off a points-per-reception scoring system, is just one Panther.
So, who is it?
Is it quarterback Bryce Young? Will the No. 1 overall pick be a worthy fantasy pick right out of the gate?
Is it wide receiver Adam Thielen? Can the former two-time Pro Bowler return to his all-star form in a fresh setting?
Or is this the first time in a long time that a Carolina tight end will be worth taking? Can free-agent signing Hayden Hurst set himself up for a breakout?
Well, it’s none of the above, at least for these purposes. Instead, it’s another new face—running back Miles Sanders.
Sanders ranks 52nd overall and 22nd amongst all rushers on Yates’ slate. He sits just behind the likes of Houston’s Dameon Pierce, New York’s Breece Hall and New Orleans’ Alvin Kamara.
The former Philadelphia Eagle, who signed a four-year, $25 million pact with the Panthers, is coming off a career season. He ran for bests in attempts (259), yards (1,269) and touchdowns (11).
And considering how his new coaching staff is ready to utilize him as a bell cow with upside in the receiving game, Sanders may have another juicy fantasy year in store.
