ESPN’s Lee Corso Absent From ‘College GameDay’ in Utah

Lee Corso isn’t on set in Salt Lake City for Saturday’s episode of ESPN’s College GameDay because of a family matter.

Although Corso is absent, the popular college football pregame show tweeted Saturday morning that the longtime analyst was “feeling fine” and would be tuned in to the show.

“Coach Corso won’t be on GameDay today as he attends to as family matter, but he’s feeling fine and we know he’s locked into the show,” the tweet stated.

The 88-year-old is a college football icon for his iconic headgear selections ahead of Saturday’s biggest games. The College GameDay crew—Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee—will be on hand for the Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. ET showdown between No. 8 Oregon (6–1, 3–1 Pac-12) and No. 13 Utah (6–1, 3–1) at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Both teams enter Saturday’s clash coming off wins last week. The Utes defeated USC, 34–32, as kicker Cole Becker booted a 38-yard field goal in the final seconds. The Ducks picked up a 38–24 victory against Washington State to bounce back after a loss to Washington the previous week.
