The New York Giants will have approximately $34 million in available salary cap space to spend in free agency this coming March.
How will they spend it?
They are a team that needs upgrades in many areas, but Aaron Schatz of ESPN believes a pass rusher to complement Kayvon Thibodeaux could be in order.
One player Schatz mentions as a possibility for the Giants is the Jets’ Bryce Huff.
The Giants will make a splash with a surprisingly big free agent contract for edge rusher Bryce Huff, currently of the crosstown Jets. Huff has started only seven games in his career but is a bit of a secret star with a 23.5% career pass rush win rate.
Huff has been with the Jets since being inked as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis in 2020. He came into his own this season with 10.0 sacks after having a second-round tender placed on him by the Jets in March.
The Giants were hoping that Azeez Ojulari would be that bookend for Thibodeaux, but he has not been able to stay healthy. It could be time to move on and Huff could be had at a reasonable price.
