The Jaguars have been active ahead of the NFL’s Nov. 5 trade deadline, having shipped rotational defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7 and starting left tackle Cam Robinson to the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday.
Will Jacksonville make any more moves over the next six days? ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler is not ruling out the possibility.
Fowler and ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano on Wednesday analyzed the state of the NFL trade market, looking at recently completed deals and players who could be shipped across the league before the deadline.
While breaking down Jacksonville and Minnesota’s deal for Robinson, Fowler noted the Jaguars have “been willing to part with offensive and defensive line depth for a few weeks now,” leading him to float a pair of trench players the club could move on from.
“Jacksonville has also talked to teams about its defensive line depth, so it might not be done,” Fowler wrote. “But I still sense that it believes in its core players, despite the uneven performance on the field. Esezi Otomewo and Jeremiah Ledbetter are among depth players to potentially watch at the deadline.”
Ledbetter and Otomewo have each started games for Jacksonville this season and represent significant members of the team’s defensive line rotation, with Ledbetter averaging 28.8 defensive snaps per game over six appearances and Otomewo 22.5 defensive snaps per game over four appearances.
Otomewo has missed Jacksonville’s last two games while nursing a calf injury. He was a limited practice participant daily in Week 8.
Ledbetter has logged 17 total tackles including four for loss, one sack and three quarterback pressures (per Pro Football Focus) this year. Otomewo has generated four tackles, half a sack and eight quarterback pressures.
Ledbetter and Otomewo are both on one-year contracts with the Jaguars.
