Could we see Michigan State link up with Gonzaga again this year in a NCAA Tournament battle? That’s possible in the latest update of Bracketology from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.
Lunardi has been releasing his famous “Bracketology” NCAA Tournament projections for months, and to no surprise Michigan State is in the field of 68. The Spartans are one of 10 teams Lunardi currently has dancing this upcoming March.
Check out which Big Ten teams Lunardi has listed in his latest batch of “Bracketology” below:

Michigan State

First Round Opponent: No. 11 seed Pitt
Thoughts on Draw: This would be a very favorable draw for the Spartans and a seed-line they’d be excited about. Pitt is a rising team in the ACC this year and wouldn’t be a guarantee win for Michigan State, but should they get past the Panthers then No. 3 seed Gonzaga is most likely waiting in the second round. As fans can remember, Michigan State had Gonzaga on the ropes but failed to finish off the Bulldogs in a early season matchup so this certainly would be a winnable game for Michigan State to reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2019.
