ESPN analyst says Patriots committed to Mac Jones, despite Tom Brady talk

The Tom Brady and New England Patriots rumors might have just been put to bed after recent comments from ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Jeff Howe of The Athletic first reported that a Brady and Patriots reunion could be something to consider. Unsurprisingly, those comments sent the internet abuzz and left fans wondering what a potential reunion would look like.

But Reiss seemingly poured cold water on the speculation Wednesday. When speaking on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Zolak and Bertrand Show, he indicated the Patriots are fully committed to Jones as their quarterback.

“Full commitment to Mac,” said Reiss. “Like, make no mistake about it. They are all in on Mac. So, as we talk about this, I wouldn’t want anything to ever come across as if, like, they were second-guessing that decision.”

Jones has had a difficult year but is performing well as of late. He threw for 382 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12.

He’ll have another test on Thursday as he takes on the Buffalo Bills. The weather could play a factor in the game, and the Patriots offense might have to make some adjustments when standing toe-to-toe with a Bills team that ranks among the best in football.
