Escape to the Chateau viewers were in tears moments into tonight's show.
The popular Channel 4 programme has documented Dick and Angel Strawbridge's attempts to renovate a French chateau. The family has poured their heart and soul into the project over nine seasons.
Sunday's episode was a Christmas extravaganza as the Strawbridge family threw a festive party of a lifetime to mark the end of an era. Viewers on Twitter were devastated at the start of the episode as an announcement confirmed it was the last ever episode.

Melanie responded: "Can’t believe this is the last programme! What a delight your story in the chateau has been and how inspiring. We will miss you all!!"
Amy added: "Smiling and crying. You will all be missed so much, you have felt part of our lives for so long and brought lots of joy too"
