Escape To The Chateau star Dick Strawbridge accused of sweary meltdown during filming

Escape To The Chateau star Dick Strawbridge has been accused of having a sweary meltdown during filming.

Dick, 61, and his wife Angel, 43, have spent £280,000 doing up their historic castle in France and documented the renovations in their Channel 4 show.

However, a new press report has suggested there's been trouble on set - with Dick accused of having a tantrum and swearing at a crewmember after he was asked to repeat a task because it had been missed during initial filming.

Dick - who claims to have no memory of the alleged incident - is said to have been hammering down floor boards when he was asked to do something again.

A source told the Daily Mail : "At this point, Dick looks up and he's on his hands and knees. He says something like, 'If you ask me to do something again I will throw you through the f***ing window.

"To me, it was not said in jest. It was threatening. It was quite intimidating when Dick got angry."

A representative for Dick told the publication: "Dick has no recollection of any such incident."

Other sources have defended the couple to the publication, insisting they never saw any worrying incidents on set.

One said: "In three years of working with Dick and Angel, I have never felt they were unreasonable, aggressive or abusive."

Another added: "Being in front of the camera is a highly stressful job [and they] are under extreme pressure", adding the couple are "'professional, hard-working and generous'".

A representative for the couple told MailOnline : "During the making of the early series of Escape to the Chateau Dick and Angel had problems working with the then producers, who tried to make it a trashy reality programme.

"Escape to the Chateau is set in their home and they wanted an honest portrayal of their family journey rather than to enact the vision of a TV producer."

A representative for Channel 4 said the organisation was not aware of any of any alleged bad behaviour from the couple.

They added: "Channel 4 does not tolerate bullying or abusive behaviour in any of its productions."

The Mirror has contacted a representative for Dick for comment.
