Escape to the Chateau's Dick Strawbridge has revealed he tried to break up with his wife Angel before they got married.
The couple have won over the hearts of the nation on their popular Channel 4 programme, which documents their efforts to renovate a French chateau.
Dick, 62, and Angel, 43, share the luxury home with their two children and celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary last year.

They first met 12 years ago and Dick recently revealed in an interview that he once tried to split up with Angel over their 19 year age gap.
He told the Belfast Telegraph : "We fell in love very quickly and had a wonderful time.
"But then I told Angela it was time for her to find a young man [and] have children because I felt I shouldn’t keep her from that.”
However, Angel hit back at the suggestion and was determined to make their relationship work.
She said: "Age is but a number.
“Dick has always had a wonderful energy and is so passionate about everything he does, I love that about him.”
Dick and Angel met at a party and he describes their relationship as "like a real fairy tale".
He said: "It’s incredible when you think about it.
"I mean, in 1959 I was born in Burma, twenty years later Angel was just being born. But somehow our paths crossed, and we found each other, got married, live in a castle and have two beautiful children.
"There is no way to explain it, no way to work out how it all came to be. It’s like a real fairy tale!”
