Escape to the Chateau's Dick and Angel admit it's 'been humbling few days' after leaked rant

Escape to the Chateau 's Dick and Angel Strawbridge partied with fans as they opened up about "a humbling couple of days" following their axing from Channel 4.

The couple fronted the popular show since 2015 as they renovated a dilapidated 45-bedroom French chateau into their family home and business.

They worked with the broadcaster for nine seasons and a variety of spin-off shows before Channel 4 told the Mirror they had decided to part ways with Dick and Angel "following a review" after years of working on the hugely successful show together.

The decision came amid claims they 'bullied' producers whilst filming, but Dick and Angel insisted there are 'two sides to every story'.

On Wednesday, the married couple shared a snap of their "biggest event ever" from their delayed meet-and-greet from last year's theatre tour.

The post read: "A huge hello to you on this Wonderful Wednesday!

"It’s been a humbling couple of days here for us and our team. 1,000 Chateau hugs…1,000 cakes, lots of bubbly in tea cups, plenty of smiles, and two wedding proposals took place at our biggest event ever.

"From invite to execution it took 15 months, but our postponed Meet & Greet from last year's theatre tour finally took place."

Fans loved their fairytale story as the couple renovated a 19th-century, 45-bedroom Château de la Motte-Husson in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France.

But it seems the dream turned into a bit of nightmare with Two Rivers Media confirming to the Mirror they also cut ties and will no longer be working with the couple.

A leaked audio clip saw Angel reportedly launch a 'foul mouthed rant' at a producer. At one point in the clip, Angel says her husband Dick talked to people like "s***", with the producer then responding to say to her: "And I don’t like that either."

The pair have now made the shock move to wind down their company, after applying for a 'voluntary strike off' from the register at Companies House.

The application for Chateau-de-la-Motte Husson Limited was signed on May 9 by Dick and Angel, real name Angela.

Dick and Angel will embark on a mammoth UK tour, to share their story with fans, including two dates at the London Palladium in 2024.
