Escape to the Chateau's Angel Adoree teary-eyed as they host first wedding since Covid

Angel Adoree was seen teary-eyed on the latest episode of Escape to the Chateau, which saw her and husband Dick Strawbridge host their first wedding since the pandemic.

The couple run an events business out of their 19th century château in France. They however had been unable to host weddings and other gatherings during lockdown.

The Channel 4 show returned for a new series last week, with Angel, 44, and Dick, 63, finally able to put on events. This included their first wedding in more than two years.

The episode saw them prepare for brides Natasha and Victoria to tie the knot. Angel was seen getting a little emotional ahead of the nuptials, whilst talking to Dick.

She said: "I'm happy, I feel like I'm getting on top of things as well. It has been a bit foggy!" She added: "I have been a bit out of practice honestly but I have everything now."

Angel was seen providing details about the event to her husband. This included that there would be 58 guests for their "first wedding" since reopening the business after Covid.

She further told her husband that the brides would be arriving the night before the wedding with their mothers. Bridesmaids and guests would arrive the next morning.

Dick then asked where the brides would get prepared. Angel said: "The honeymoon suite and botanical suite. They're not going to see each other until they meet on the stairs!"

She was seen getting a bit emotional over it, saying: "Oh god, I feel quite tearful thinking about it!" She appeared to wipe a tear away from her eye after the remark.

Angel - who married her husband in 2015 - subsequently reminisced about their nuptials. She said: "I just think it does feel like it's the first wedding. It feels like our wedding."

Escape to the Chateau continues on Sunday evening (November 13) on Channel 4 from 8pm. You can catch up on the first two episodes of the new series through All4.
